Mangroovy Area sits on the north-east side of El Gouna, where the resort meets the open Red Sea. It takes its name from Mangroovy Beach, the most popular beach in town and a well-known kitesurfing spot. Steady wind, shallow water and a long shoreline rank it among the top kite spots in the world.
The character of the area is a hybrid of resort and residential. Sheraton (Maritim) and Movenpick are the two large resorts that anchor the zone. Around them sit smaller apartment complexes, a handful of standalone villas and new builds that benefit from being close to the beach. The mood is informal, sporty and international.
