# Short-stay rentals in El Gouna

You want a one week to three month stay in El Gouna. You want a furnished apartment, villa, or chalet. You want kitchen, pool access, Wi-Fi, and a beach within walking distance. This page maps the short-stay journey end-to-end. We list direct from owners and local managers wherever possible. We do not charge booking-platform commission to you.

## Who comes for a short stay

Short-stay guests cluster around four profiles:

- Couples and families on a one to two week holiday.
- Divers, kitesurfers, and golfers on a focused activity trip.
- Remote workers on a working holiday, testing the area before committing longer.
- Weekenders escaping Cairo (a 50-minute flight or a 5-hour drive).

Indicative weekly rates:

- Studios: roughly $350 to $700.
- One-bedroom apartments: roughly $450 to $900.
- Two-bedroom apartments: roughly $700 to $1.4K.
- Villas 3 to 5 bedrooms: roughly $1.2K to $2K.
- Winter peak (December to February, Easter, European school-holidays) adds 30 to 50 percent.

Monthly rates are typically 20 to 30 percent lower per week than pure weekly rates, which is why many short-stay guests negotiate a four-week booking instead of four single-week bookings.

## Best time for a short stay

October through April offers mild temperatures (22 to 28 degrees Celsius), peak activity, and full restaurant calendars. May and September are shoulder months with lower rates and steady weather. June through August is hot (32 to 40 degrees) but suits kitesurfers and budget-conscious visitors.

For a focused diving or kitesurfing trip, April-May and October-November combine warm sea with consistent wind. For a family-pool-villa holiday, December-February peak is the European winter-sun window.

## How to pick the right dates

Check availability via the listing page or WhatsApp. Peak weeks around Christmas, Easter, and European school holidays fill 8 to 12 weeks ahead. Off-peak weeks fill 2 to 4 weeks ahead. Last-minute availability exists in shoulder seasons and in summer.

Booking four to eight weeks ahead secures the best selection. Booking less than two weeks ahead in peak season means accepting whatever is left.

## Which neighborhood fits

Short-stay fit depends on what you want from the trip:

- Marina: walkable nightlife, restaurants, nightclubs, the social heart.
- Tawila: quiet family lagoon, wave-free shallow water, pools.
- Abu Tig: upscale yacht-marina lifestyle, premium feel.
- Mangroovy: adult-vibe beach, kitesurfing center, music-driven bars.
- West Golf: quiet, fairway views, light-traffic, ideal for golfers.
- South Marina: newer builds, pool-villa stays, modern compounds.

The neighborhood guides under our neighborhoods section explain each in more depth.

## Activities within reach

El Gouna packs variety into a small footprint. Diving on the house-reefs is world-class for an in-town destination. Kitesurfing at Mangroovy and Element is consistent year-round. Golf on the three courses is open year-round. Day-trips to Hurghada bazaars, to Luxor temples, to desert quad-biking, or to Mahmya island fill multiple days. Restaurants in Marina cover Egyptian-classic, sushi, Italian, French, Lebanese, and street-food.

## What is included

Furniture, full kitchen, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, linen, and towels are standard. Pool access depends on the compound. Cleaning is usually one mid-stay turn plus end-of-stay for week-long bookings. Utilities are included for stays under one month. Longer stays may have a fair-use cap.

## Airport and arrival

Hurghada International Airport sits 25 to 35 minutes by car from El Gouna. We pre-book a private transfer at indicatively $25 to $40 one-way. Some hosts include the transfer in the package. Public buses to the El Gouna gate also operate, then a short tuk-tuk ride inside.

Taxis at the airport work but negotiate the rate before getting in (typical 25 to 40 USD to El Gouna). Most experienced guests pre-book to avoid the negotiation.

## Booking and cancellation

Soft-hold via WhatsApp while you compare options. Confirm with 30 to 50 percent deposit via bank-transfer. Balance due on arrival or one week before. Cancellation policies vary by owner: some are flexible up to 14 days out, others stricter. We share each policy clearly on the listing page.

## Check-in and support

Key-handover at the property by the local manager. House-rules briefed, Wi-Fi-code shared, emergency-numbers shared. Inventory checklist signed. Welcome basket depending on host.

Each rental has a 24-hour local property manager. Issues like air-con, plumbing, or Wi-Fi are typically resolved within a few hours. We escalate via WhatsApp if needed.

## Checkout

Return keys to the property manager on the agreed date. Final inspection against the inventory checklist. Security deposit returned within 3 to 7 days after checkout if no damages. Final cleaning is included in your rate.

## Common concerns and answers

**Is it safe for women travelers solo?** El Gouna is one of the safer Egyptian destinations for solo women. Marina is well-lit and walkable late evening. Cab and tuk-tuk drivers are professional. Carry a printed address card with the compound name and unit number for easy reference.

**Do I need cash or card?** Both. Cards work in most Marina restaurants and supermarkets. Tuk-tuks, beach-vendors, and small shops are cash-only. ATMs occasionally run dry during peak weeks, so withdraw early in your stay.

**Is the tap-water safe?** Tap-water is treated and safe for brushing teeth and showering. Bottled-water is standard for drinking. Ice in restaurants is from filtered water.

**Can I extend my stay?** Yes if the property is available. Soft-extend via WhatsApp at least three days before your original checkout. Off-peak extensions are usually at the same rate. Peak-season extensions may carry a small price-bump.

## Coming back longer

Many short-stay guests upgrade to long-stay rental for the next season or explore buying after several visits. We tag returning guests for early-bird rates and seasonal discounts. The rent journey covers monthly-rate context. The buy journey covers contract-steps and document-checklists.
